Saxifraga eschscholtzii Sternb.
Publ. & Syn.Ser. in DC., Prodr. 4: 48 (1830). - Saxifraga pyrolifolia D. Don, Trans. Linn. Soc. London 13: 389 (1822). Lectotype (BM): Alaska: the Aleutian Islands, "Unalashka", leg. D. Nelson (Gornall 1985b: 281).
NotesGillespie and Elven: The record of Saxifraga eschscholtzii from the Canadian Arctic Archipelago is based on a collection from the Mould Bay area on Prince Patrick Island. The material (CAN) is correctly identified but the location is quite strange for a comparatively thermophilous cliff crevice specialist. It has not been refound in the locality in spite of search. This occurrence must be confirmed before it can be accepted.
