NotesThe reports of the octoploid number certainly belong to subsp. sibiricum, whereas the sources for the Siberian and Japanese reports of tetraploids are less certain. Hultén and Fries (1986) recognized the Japanese plants as subsp. japonicum (Maxim.) Hultén.
