Micranthes reflexa (Hook.) Small | |
Publ. & Syn. | Heterisia Raf. ex Small, N. Amer. Fl. 22, 2: 155 (1905). |
Notes | Section Heterisia and the non-arctic sect. Irregulares together constitute a sister branch to the main Saxifraga group in the molecular phylogenies (Soltis et al. 1996, 2001). Brouillet and Elvander (2009a) assigned the assumed Heterisia species of Saxifraga spicata as a Micranthes. We provisionally follow that solution. |
Chromosomes | 20 (2x). - Alaska, Canada (NW). - At least three reports. Krause and Beamish (1973) reported 2n = 20, ca. 30, and 40 for Saxifraga reflexa. Brouillet and Elvander (2009a) accepted 2n = 20 and 40, whereas they accepted the related, more southern Micranthes occidentalis (S. Watson) Small to be chromosomally more varied (2n = 20, 38, 40, 56, 58). |
