Chenopodium salinum Standl.
Publ. & Syn.Standl., N. Amer. Fl. 21, 1: 29 (1916). Holotype (US-736330)?: U.S.A.: New Mexico, Ojo Caliente, 28. July 1904, leg. E.O. Wooton 2772. - Chenopodium glaucum subsp. salinum (Standl.) Aellen, Repert. Spec. Nov. Regni Veg. 26: 46 (1929). - Chenopodium glaucum var. salinum (Standl.) B. Boivin, Canad. Field-Naturalist 65: 17 (1951).
NotesClemants and Mosyakin (2003) considered Chenopodium salinum a race of C. glaucum L., Sp. Pl.: 220 (1753). Uotila (2001a and elsewhere) has argued for recognition of C. salinum as species. The native plants in both northeastern Asia and North America seem to belong to C. salinum. There is a Greenland record for C. glaucum in the map of Hultén (1968a) but persistence of C. glaucum s. str. in the Arctic is undocumented and improbable.
