NotesSilene vulgaris occurs as an established adventive in the Arctic in Europe, elsewhere casual. There are several other, more southern subspecies, partly at higher ploidy levels.
Chromosomes24 (2x). - Europe, Canada. - Numerous reports.
There are numerous reports of 2n = 48 from more southern regions but we assume they belong to other subspecies.
