Arenaria longipedunculata Hultén
Publ. & Syn.Hultén, Bot. Not. 119: 313 (1966). Holotype (S G-7144!): Alaska: northern foothills of the Brooks Range, Umiat, 23-29. July 1960, leg. E. Hultén.
NotesWestergaard and Elven: The amphi-Beringian Arenaria longipedunculata and the amphi-Atlantic A. humifusa are morphologically similar and probably closely related. In a phylogeographical analysis based on AFLP, Westergaard (unpubl.) found the phenotype of the assumed strictly Beringian A. longipedunculata in samples also from the Canadian Arctic Archipelago and Greenland. Comparative morphological studies have not yet been undertaken. The range of A. longipedunculata may have to be revised.
Chromosomes80 (8x). - Alaska. - Löve and Löve (1975c, from the type locality at Umiat).
Hartman et al. (2005a) in addition reported 2n = 40 (4x). We do not know the source behind this report.
