Cerastium alpinum var. glabrum Wahlenb.
Publ. & Syn.Cerastium glabratum Hartm., Handb. Skand. Fl.: 180 (1820). Lectotype: northern Norway. Vahl, Fl. Dan. 6, 17: t. 979. 1790. (Jonsell 1996: 5). - Cerastium alpinum subsp. glabratum (Hartm.) Á. Löve & D. Löve, Acta Horti Gothob. 20, 4: 141 (1956).
NotesElven and Grundt: Wahlenberg's var. glabrum is the priority name if the race is treated as a variety. Varietal treatment has been chosen because this race occurs within the range of subsp. alpinum (which it most resembles), differs in few morphological characters, has a partly different ecology, and seems to be fully interfertile with subsp. alpinum, perhaps also with subsp. lanatum.
