Papaver sp. "Khatanga"
Publ. & Syn.V.V. Petrovsky, Bot. Zhurn. 68: 236 (1983). Holotype (LE!): Russian Far East: Wrangel Island, "ad sinum Somnitelnaja", 10. Aug. 1979, leg. V.V. Petrovsky 79-96.
NotesPlants from the Kayak area at the middle Khatanga River in eastern Taimyr joined with southern Siberian Papaver nudicaule in AFLP patterns. They differ in morphology and probably belong to an undescribed species in the P. nudicaule complex. If the hexaploid plant at Khatanga is an allopolyploid, it may have tetraploid P. nudicaule and tetraploid P. pulvinatum subsp. pulvinatum in its parentage.
Chromosomes(1) 5x. - Siberia (Taimyr) - Pentaploid in FCM, Solstad et al. (2009, one plant).
(2) 42 (6x). - Siberia (Taimyr). - Solstad (2009). Hexaploid in FCM, Solstad (2009, 16 plants from two localities).
