NotesArctic occurrence of Papaver nudicaule subsp. americanum is not confirmed. Kiger and Murray (1997) did not map it so far north but we have seen plants that may belong to subsp. americanum from near arctic parts of Alaska and the Yukon Territory.
Chromosomes28 (4x). - Alaska. - Dawe and Murray (1981c, two counts). Tetraploid in FCM, Solstad (2009, one plant).
