Ranunculus grayi Britton
Publ. & Syn.Jurtz., Novosti Sist. Vyssh. Rast. 6: 302 (1970). Holotype (LE): Russian Far East: West Chukotka, "montes Anjujensis, ad fontes fl. Erguveem inter rivulos Lovki et Melki", 03. July 1967, leg. A. Korobkov, B. Yurtsev, and E. Simarskaja K-67.
NotesRebristaya: I prefer to accept Ranunculus grayi at level of species due to distinct morphological differences and the long distance between the ranges of R. grayi (Beringian Arctic and Cordilleran) and R. gelidus Kar. & Kit. (central Asian, described from the Alatau).
Murray & Elven: Some American authors have applied the name R. karelinii Czerep. (Czerepanov 1981: 425) to North American plants. This name is a superfluous, illegitime synonym of R. gelidus Kar. & Kir. (1842), see the International Plant Name Index (http://ipni.org/ipni).
Chromosomes16 (2x). - Far East (N), Canada. - At least five reports.
GeographyAsian (NE) - amphi-Beringian - Cordilleran: SIB RFE ALA CAN.
