Publ. & Syn.Jurtz., Fl. Arct. URSS 6: 153 (1971). - Delphinium cryophilum Nevski, Fl. URSS 7: 724 (1937). Type (LE): European Russia: "In decliviis argillosis herbosis insulae Kolgujev", 23. Aug. 1902, leg. Pohle.
NotesYurtsev: Subspecies cryophilum is a local Kolguev race which differs from the type race not only in smaller size and fewer leaves and flowers etc. but also in totally pilose stems with stiff, straight hairs and with an admixture of short glandular hairs with inflated base and in leaves less dissected with shorter lobes and subobtuse teeth. Transitional forms are found on mainland tundra. This justifies distinguishing this minor race as a subspecies.
