Publ. & Syn. | Panicularia nervata taxon stricta Scribn., U.S.D.A. Div. Agrostol. Rep. Agrostol. 13: 44 (1898). Type: U.S.A.: Beaver Basin [at the boundary between Colorado and Wyoming], 22. July 1897, leg. A. Nelson 3818. - Glyceria striata subsp. stricta (Scribn.) Hultén, Acta Univ. Lund., n. s., sect. 2, 38, 1: 232 (1942). |
Notes | Glyceria striata approaches the Arctic in the southern Brooks Range in northern Alaska (found in 2002, ALA, O). There might be arguments for recognition of subsp. stricta, as done in many North American treatments, but Barkworth and Anderton (2007) stated that the variation between western subsp. stricta and eastern subsp. striata is continuous. |
Chromosomes | (1) 20 (2x, x = 10). - Canada, U.S.A. - Several reports for "striata". (2) 28 (4x, x = 7). - Stählin (1929, for "nervata" and "striata"); Fitzpatrick (1946, for "striata"). |
