Phalaroides N.M. Wolf
Publ. & Syn.Typhoides Moench, Methodus: 201 (1794).
NotesFollowing proposal of Tzvelev, we have decided to accept Phalaroides apart from Phalaris. Phalaroides arundinacea is a strongly rhizomatous perennial with a temperate-boreal range strongly divergent from the mainly annual Mediterranean and western Asian Phalaris s. str. Acceptance of the genus, however, does not follow recent treatments in other areas (e.g., Conert 1998, Central Europe; Soreng et al. 2003 and Barkworth 2007c, America).
