Publ. & Syn.Tzvelev, Novosti Sist. Vyssh. Rast. 10: 86 (1973). - Puccinellia colpodioides Tzvelev, Fl. Arct. URSS 2: 194 (1964). Holotype (LE): Russian Far East: Wrangel Island, "prope sinum Rogers", 09. Aug. 1938, leg. Gorodkov. - Phippsia vahliana subsp. colpodioides (Tzvelev) Á. Löve & D. Löve, Bot. Not. 128: 501 (1976).
NotesThe Canadian record is due to material from Banks Island in Nunavut, northwestern Canada (CAN; Gillespie in comment, unpubl.). The Banks Island plant is quite different from western Alaskan and East Chukotkan Puccinellia wrightii. It should be compared with Russian plants, especially with the Wrangel Island subsp. colpodioides (see above) which it resembles superficially. We enter it as species.
