Holmberg stated its southern limit in the Nordic area to be in the northern part of Nordland county in Norway and in the Faeroes Islands, i.e., including the plants of Iceland, the Faeroes, northern Fennoscandia and Russia, and subsequently also documented from Jan Mayen and Bear Island.
