NotesPoa palustris does not reach the Arctic in mainland Norway but has been found as a casual adventive in Svalbard.

(3) 28 28-32 (4x). - Europe, Russia, Siberia, Far East, Canada. - Numerous reports.

All recent reports, with one exception, are of tetraploids (2n = 28). The hexaploid (and triploid) reports are from the period 1929-1954 and probably not vouchered. It it therefore possible that this species is predominantly or entirely tetraploid and sexual.
