Trisetum subalpestre (Hartm.) Neuman
Publ. & Syn.Avena subspicata var. agrostidea Laest., Nova Acta Regiae Soc. Sci. Upsal. 11: 245 (1839). Described from northern Sweden. - Trisetum agrostideum (Laest.) Fr., Novit. Fl. Svec. Mant. 3: 180 (1845).
NotesIn Norway, Trisetum subalpestre reaches the Borderline Arctic north of Vestre Jakobselv in Vadsø, Finnmark.
The name Trisetum agrostideum has often been applied in Russian literature, T. subalpestre in Nordic literature. Both names are based on northern Swedish plants and refer to the same species. The name Avena subalpestris predates Trisetum agrostideum for a species. Hartman's Avena subalpestris is a nomen novum for his A. alpestris Hartm., Handb. Skand. Fl., ed. 2: 24 (1832), a homonym of A. alpestris Host, now Trisetum alpestre (Host) P. Beauv., but that does not influence its priority.
