NotesThis section has traditionally been assigned to subg. Psyllophora, due to an inflorescence of a single spike, but is a misfit there. It rather belongs within subg. Vignea (see Yen and Olmstead 2000). Hybrids with species of subg. Vignea (especially sect. Glareosae and sect. Foetidae) are frequent. Hybrids with species of subg. Psyllophora are unknown.
