Carex lapponica O. Lang
Publ. & Syn.O. Lang, Linnaea 24: 539 (1851). Described from "Lapland" (northern Sweden).
NotesCarex lapponica has been extensively over-reported, at least in Scandinavia. Slender plants of C. canescens and hybrids between several species have frequently been identified as C. lapponica or as C. subloliacea (Laest.) Bickn., a synonym of C. lapponica.
Chromosomes56. - Europe, Far East (N), Canada. - At least five reports but all should be confirmed by check of vouchers.
