NotesTande and Lipkin (2003) mapped localities of Carex sitchensis in the Arctic in southwestern Alaska from the Yukon River Delta southwards. Standley et al. (2002) considered it a variety of C. aquatilis. It is better treated as a Pacific species, i.e., as C. sitchensis, see the results of Dragon and Barrington (2009).
