NotesMurray and Elven: Egorova (PAF proposal) accepted Carex microchaeta and C. nesophila as different species. Murray (1970) proposed them as subspecies and followed that up in Murray (2002b) due to intergradation between the coastal subsp. nesophila and the arctic-alpine subsp. microchaeta.
