NotesEgorova (1966a) mapped a locality for Carex ericetorum near Ponoj in the Murman area (northwestern European Russia), just outside the Arctic. However, Egorova (PAF proposal) reported it from the Borderline Arctic along the lower Pechora River (northeastern European Russia).
       Crins (2002c) assigned this species to sect. Clandestinae (see above).

Not included: A very early report of 2n = 32 (Heilborn 1918), probably an inexact count.
