Luzula arcuata subsp. unalaschkensis (Buchenau) Hultén
Publ. & Syn.Luzula beringensis Tolm., Fl. Arct. URSS 4: 39 (1963). Holotype (LE): Russian Far East: South Chukotka, "Terra Koriakorum, ... in cucumine montis Prodolgovataia sopka, prope sinum Korfii maris Beringii", 19. Aug. 1960, leg. A. Tolmachev, Cl. Stepanova, and L. Fedorova.
NotesEgorova et al.: We accept subsp. unalaschkensis (including Luzula beringensis and L. kamtschadalorum) as a broadly distributed amphi-Pacific/Beringian race of L. arcuata. Its range largely encompasses that of Beringian subsp. arcuata, see discussion above. The material (ALA) we have seen from the area of overlap of ranges between subsp. unalaschkensis and subsp. arcuata in the Bering Strait region does not suggest transitions. A re-evaluation of rank may be needed.
