Juncus gerardii subsp. gerardii
Publ. & Syn.Loisel., J. Bot. (Desvaux) 2: 284 (1809). Described from Provence (France). Lectotype not designated (Kirschner et al. 2002c).
NotesHultén (1958) mapped an occurrence of Juncus gerardii at York Factory on Hudson Bay, a locality not included by Scoggan (1978b) or Brooks and Clemants (2000) and not reflected in Canadian herbaria (CAN, DAO). Böcher et al. (1978) reported one locality in southern Greenland, and a specimen from there (CAN) belongs to subsp. gerardii. Subspecies gerardii reaches far north in Norway but not the Arctic.
