NotesJuncus brevicaudatus is mainly an eastern North American species but has been found here and there in geothermal ("hot spring") sites farther west. Brooks and Clemants (2000) mapped it only north to northern James Bay, south of the Arctic. However, Kirschner et al. (2002b) mapped it north to the Arctic in Quebec on the eastern shore of Hudson Bay north of James Bay.
