NotesSmoljaninova (1976) synonymized Coeloglossum bracteatum with C. viride s. str. Sóo in Keller and Schlechter (1935) found the American "bracteatum" little different from European plants.
Hultén (1968a) mapped C. viride s. str. from the Seward Peninsula and Kotzebue in western Alaska and from one locality in the Alaska Range. Plants collected more recently on the Seward Peninsula and in its surroundings (ALA, O) belong to "bracteatum". There is an essential similarity in the plants from northern Siberia (Yakutia) eastwards at least to northwestern Canada.
