Spiranthes romanzoffiana Cham. & Schltdl.
Publ. & Syn.Cham. & Schltdl., Linnaea 3: 32 (1828). Described from Unalaska in the Aleutian Islands (Alaska).
NotesThe predominantly North American Spiranthes romanzoffiana is amphi-Atlantic due to its very rare and strange occurrence in Ireland. Note the suggested different ploidy level of the Irish plant, suggesting that the isolated western European occurrence is not due to any recent introduction from North America.
