Cystopteris alpina (Lam.) Desv.
Publ. & Syn.Cystopteris regia auct., non (L.) Desv. (1827).
NotesThere is good morphological, cytological, and ecological support for keeping Cystopteris alpina apart from C. fragilis (Elven 1984b; Berg 2000). The name C. regia (Polypodium regium L. 1753) has often been applied to this plant but its type belongs within C. fragilis s. str. (according to the Linnaean typification programme of Nordic plants, Jonsell in comment; Jarvis 2007).
