Selaginella sibirica (Milde) Hieron.
Publ. & Syn.Hieron., Hedwigia 39: 290 (1900). - Selaginella rupestris f. sibirica Milde, Fil. Eur.: 262 (1867). Described from Siberia.
NotesSchaulo (1988a) excluded Selaginella sibirica from arctic Siberia. However, Tolmachev (1960) mapped it to reach the Arctic in Kharaulakh and along the lowermost Kolyma River. We assume, in this case as in numerous others, that the discrepancy is due to different collections being consulted for the accounts. The records for the Flora of the Russian Arctic, the Flora of Siberia, and the Flora of the Russian Far East, seem to have been based on material deposited in different herbaria, and the information has not been merged for the treatments. We therefore generally accept presence when reflected in one of these major sources.
